My current role is as Global Head of Trading Back-Office & Business Transformation Director for Cofco International – one of the world's largest Chinese agribusiness companies operating across over 35 countries – where I manage this function globally, overseeing 18 direct reports and ensuring robust internal controls for the group's critical commodity derivatives and physical trade transactions. This involves managing complex central reconciliations in Portugal across daily interactions with Controller teams in Geneva, Rotterdam, Chicago, Sao Paulo, Singapore, Kiev, and Beijing – handling oversight for transactions from over 10 major exchanges worldwide and coordinating with more than 25 brokerage partners. With a passion for technology, I have championed data-driven initiatives, leading the implementation of robust control frameworks using advanced tools like Power Query, Power Apps, and Qlik Sense to automate processes, improve accuracy, and build performance dashboards. As part of my position reporting through the Group Head of Business Control ultimately accountable to the CFO, I regularly collaborate with Finance leadership, Technology, Operations, Compliance, and other global functions (including CTO) to ensure smooth operations and effective risk management across complex international structures. I have successfully developed high-performing teams and established effective mentorship programs that enhance organizational capability, fulfilling my role as a proactive HR partner supporting operational success in complex environments. I am confident that my extensive experience overseeing complex financial operations across multiple continents, combined with my strategic mindset, technical acumen, collaborative spirit, effective change management skills, and people leadership abilities – managing teams reporting directly or indirectly to me effectively within a large organization like Cofco International – positions me ideally for new roles in Southest Asia where I would like to retire in 10 years time.
